Help, FAQs, and guidance for using GradePilot — the simple weighted grade calculator for students.

What GradePilot Does

GradePilot calculates weighted grade averages from the scores and weights you enter for each assignment, quiz, project, lab, or exam. You can save calculations by class or module, come back later, and update scores as the term goes on.

How To Use GradePilot

  1. Add a row for each assignment, quiz, project, or exam in your course.
  2. Enter the score or grade for each row.
  3. Enter the weight for each row (for example, 20 for a 20% project).
  4. Tap Calculate to see your weighted grade and letter grade.
  5. Tap Save Calculation to keep a course or module for later.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate my weighted grade?

Add each graded item as a row, enter its grade and weight, then tap Calculate. GradePilot calculates the weighted average from all rows that have valid grades and weights.

What should I enter for weight?

Enter the percentage weight assigned to that item or category. For example, if a project is worth 20% of your final grade, enter 20.

Do the weights need to add up to 100?

Not necessarily. GradePilot calculates the weighted average using the total weight of the rows you enter. For a complete course calculation your weights will usually add up to 100, but partial calculations can use any total.

Why is my result different from my school portal?

Schools may use different grading policies, category rules, rounding methods, dropped scores, late penalties, extra credit, or custom letter-grade scales. GradePilot is a calculator, so check your syllabus or instructor's grading rules when comparing results.

Can I save calculations for multiple classes?

Yes. Tap Save Calculation and give it a name, such as a course or module name. You can load it again later from the saved list.

Where are saved calculations stored?

Saved calculations are stored on your device. GradePilot does not require an account.

Can I use GradePilot for quizzes, projects, labs, or coursework?

Yes. The assignment name field is flexible, so you can use it for any graded item or category.

Does GradePilot calculate GPA?

GradePilot is focused on weighted grade averages and letter grades. It is not a full GPA calculator unless you manually adapt your inputs for that purpose.

Does GradePilot replace my official gradebook?

No. GradePilot is a planning and calculation tool. Official grades come from your instructor, school, university, or learning platform.

What should I do if the app is not calculating?

Make sure at least one row has a valid numeric grade and a weight greater than zero. Remove symbols or extra text from the grade and weight fields.

Letter Grade Scale

GradePilot uses the scale below to display a letter grade alongside your weighted percentage. Schools, universities, and instructors may use different grading policies, so this scale may not match yours exactly.
